Painted lights on ebay..

HONDA CIVIC R TYPE FN2 MODEL 2006+ TINTED / SMOKED BLACK MIRROR REAR LIGHTS SET | eBay

Just wondered what you all think, i like the black vinyl some people have on here, but i would prefer Gloss & the whole lights to match.

Says they are legal, searched the internet & seems a bit of a touchy subject..

Plus they are £250, not sure what it'd cost to get them done myself at a paint shop?

So just thought i'd show them here..

Quality come out alright? Also what stuff did you use?

I googled it and some people say Halfords do some which is good.

Kinda putting me off paying £250 for these pre-painted ones.

Had a set of these on my Leon totally no issues with police and went straight through mot. Only issue was the reflectors on the Leon but wouldn't be an issue on the civic as the rear splitter has reflectors.
These have been on eBay for a few months now the seller is a miserable twit I think over priced.
Also these are miles apart from the DIY ones. Not that I have any issues who spray them
You also have to up rate you fog bulbs

No alway true it's not illegal unless you can't see the lights. I think you have to be able to see the reflectors. Motormania mate. They have a website but I just went down the shop. £11 for a can I bought 2 but you only need 1.

Is it actually illegal though? From what i have read it isn't. (As long as there is a good amount of light let through?)

I'm not basing this on facts btw, i am only going by what i have read on other forums who have theirs done with no problems.

I don't want to risk my car failing an MOT or risk being Pulled over, but this is why i posted on here to see if i can get facts about the law.

You could be pulled by the police for heavily smoked lights, and if you were involved in a RTC and the rear lights were found to be defective ie obscured then you could be held liable.

I'd message the seller on eBay - As mentioned they have been listed...and relisted a few times...message him with a cheeky lower offer. You never know.

I will let you know how I get on with Typecamy's old lights if you want, can't see police or MOT failing unless there is considerably less light let through!

Also got them at less than half the price of the ebay ones and I assume I will like the look against my vivid but if I dont they will be back up for sale! haha
