HID Dutch HID law changed!

Attention dutch members:
i was at my local Honda dealer this morning and i asked him what the rules for the APK/MOT are for HID lightning after april 2012 (they have been changed after that).

he asked the chief mechanic to look it up and promised me the email me the results.

2 hours later i received an email.
stating:
Auto´s die NA 31-12-2006 gekentekend zijn hoeven geen sproei installatie meer te hebben,
tevens hoeft de unit ook niet automatisch in hoogte te verstellen.
WEL dienen de xenon dimlichten te blijven branden wanneer het groot licht gebruikt wordt.
translate:
Cars build AFTER 31-12-2006 do no longer need to have a cleaning installation for the headlights.
Neither do they need auto leveling headlights.
the Xenon dipped beam needs to stay on when using the main beam.

i dont know if this goes for the UK aswell, but this is the new rule for the Netherlands from the official handbook for the dutch MOT/APK

this basicly means that everyone can use HIDs without having to change anything to their car!

In the UK the rules state that if levelling and washers are fitted, they must work. However there is no requirement for them to be fitted at all!

That's good news but you will still need the H7R bulbs to reduce the light scatter and glare.

Indeed, as you can still fail on beam pattern.

its not difficult to get H7r bulbs. mr JP sells them and so is Autobulbs direct.
and probably more companies do!

I got mine from Mr JP and no issues.
