Interior Footwell Lights

Can any one shed any light on how to get to the footwell light on the drivers side. I am doing the mod where you drill through the cover. I did the passenger side but when I went to the drivers it doesn't look like the panel comes off. Am I meant to somehow bend the panel to get to the light?

We did it a different way, wired ours so it comes on when unlock the car or open a door. Goes off when you lock or start the car.

Is there not a green plug under there near the centre console, I noticed it when fitting my lights and wondered what it was for

I dont know I just need to be able to get the light out so I can drill a hole through the cap so it's brighter but unlike the passenger side panel it doesn't look like it comes off
