You can get Performance Halogens like Philips Crystal Visions(4300K) or Diamond Vision(5000K)

My lowbeam are Narva Intense(4200K), so the Crystal Vision will look a little more whiter

You need to look at whiter HIDs as the above are just standard halogen bulbs.

The "k" rating refers to the colour temperature and will give an indication of the light output, some more (not car related) reading here: Full Spectrum and Light Bulbs with a Color Temperature of 5000K or Higher.

I think I have 6000k bulbs fitted and these are nice and white.
Speak to Mr JP - he has a thread here: Brand New HID Upgrade Bulbs Any "K" Rating New Low Price! Only £20 inc P&P.

The installation is tricky with the 2.2 as the battery on one side and the coolant reservoir on the other mean it's a job for small hands... or moving those offending items out of the way slightly!

By mainbeam are you talking about the highbeam which are H1 55w bulbs or low/dipped beam which are D2R for you.
