footwell lighting

Iwas reading somewhere on here about wiring some leds for the footwell area using the glove box light as the power source, it seemed prety simple enough just connect the 2 led red wires to the live side and the black ones to the earth side , is it this simple and is it safe to do it this way, as I have also read about resistors and stuff ,that really confused me , can someone help, Thanks in advance,....Gers

Now , that's one I would be interested in as well.
Always get a bit worried though, about adding electrical things on, as it may effect the warranty.

Thanks hunter for the pdf,..but the lights i was going to fit were from halfords £4.99 as used by ..Tamar in his post..connected just to the glove box light, looks really simple (like to simple to be true) but his results looked smart, just still wondering is it safe...
