Correct, I found locking the wife in the boot solved all my problems, not just the lights

I have a SEAT that lights up but I don’t make the same mistake - maybe it’s the way it lights up like a Christmas tree and mesmerises me? It’s a bit scary!

Er... well... I tried. Turns out there's no such knob! Its location is indicated in the manual (immediately left from the steering wheel), but when I look at the console, it's not there.

Has it been located somewhere else? Do I need get into the dash to adjust the lights?

Skaven,
Which variant do you have - does it have HID lamps? If so you will need to get under the bonnet and adjust the knob/screws there.

You can also do this for those vehicles that have an adjuster in the cabin if you cant get the desired adjustment. I'm sure the fitment/adjustment is similar if not identical

Still suggest reading this thread: Think I found the adjusters for the HID Lights. HID or not!

unfortunately, for those of us with HIDs, whilst locking the wife in the boot may solve many problems (and probably cause even more...), it won't make the beam any higher, as the HIDs have self adjusters for just this eventuallity

Ok - possibly not this exact eventuality, but they do self adjust for heavy loads in the boot

Not that I'm discussing the weight of anyone's wife!

I took my Civic to the dealer today to have the creaky rear suspension fixed. I also asked them to adjust the headlights up a little bit. Better let the professionals do it than try tweaking them myself.

Oh, and I also asked them to fix the condensation of moisture in the rear indicators. Seems like a pretty common problem.

I've got a creaky rear suspension and condensation in my rear indicators too. They must be non-catalogue features for the car....

Got my car back. They adjusted my headlights up a bit, like the title sez. However, they couldn't fix the suspension and condensation right away - they ordered spare parts for that, and will get back to me when those arrive. Oh my.

The main and dip beams can be adjusted independantly using a 6mm hex key.

I will try this tonight and report later with results/pictures.

WRONG - they cant be adjusted independently - the adjusters work the lights vertically and laterally.
