intermittent blue LED cluster problem

Noticed that my LED cluster in the main interior light was no longer emitting any light.

Tried the different switch settings - no differance.

Pulled it out and put back the original bulb.
Worked a treat.

Put the led cluster back and played with it a litte - it was not loose and still did not work.

After some playing around it started working intermittently and then - all the time.

So now it works...

I am guessing there is some intermittent fault in the actual cluster - but it looks impossible to open up.

Any one had this?
Any one managed to open the cluster?
Any one made a warranty claim to autobulbs?

Hi FWH, had the same problem removed the bulb and gave each end a rub with sandpaper also the bulb holder in the lamp .
now seems to work ok.

Went back to intermittent again...

Tried the sand paper method (thanks) today, seem ok now.

Will give it a week before I feel comfortable though.

I have had the problem again.
The wire from the LED,s are bent over the end of the blue plastic under the metal caps this is poor and the problem.
How to fix.
A little heat from a soldering iron on the cap and pull it off,you will see the wire unbend it and solder a short length of flexible copper wire to it then solder the other end into the cap and push the cap back on .
Do both ends result 100% go on give it a try cheers

I thought these were quite expensive, given that the lights may cause an accident if they fail to light up cannot you just ask for a replacement or refund?

We are talking about the interior light.
Donīt think that can cause an accident.

Sandpaper seems to have done the trick on mine. Touch wood (knocks on head).
