Improving blue LED over gearstick

There is a small standard blue LED which is between the 2 reading lights. It does not give very much light.

I have seen one post about drilling up the hole:
[HOW TO] Swap the microphone from left to right

But it does not say anything about drill size or results.

Anyone else tried this and if so, what drill did you use?

Thanks, had not seen that actually.

But that is changing the LED which is a but further than I want to go. I think that might be too bright.

Pottsy took the light cover off and used a little Dremel drill and bit to increase the hole diameter in the cover.
Did give a bit of extra light, but not much.
Think he would have mentioned, upping the LED, if it was that easy.

I followed Pottsy's lead...

if you look at the hole as it is, its 0 shaped.

I simply drilled it out to be O shaped instead - no bigger as such, just rounder

still doesn't give a lot of light, but more than it did before
