Whiter Foglight bulbs?

Hi I've just bought some LED sidelights (position) and waiting for some free time to fit them, but after using my fogs last night I noticed how yellow they look in comparison to the rest of my lights. So I was wondering, if any of you have replaced the fog bulbs for a type which produces a close colour match to the HID's?

Autobulbsdirect do them, but I wouldn't envy you the job of replacing them!

I guess next year LEDs should slowly start becoming available for fog lamps, until then I would leave the lamps as they are - a touch warmer colour temperature is good when driving in fog (less self-blinding)

Strange isn't it? The world seems polarised between those who don't put any lights on until total darkness and those that love to 'impress' us with the fact that they have foglights - whatever the conditions

Name and shame nic283! Well, tell us the car colour and they might take the hint .........

I have changed sidelights and main beam, but will not bother with the fogs.

It was just an aesthetic thing really, because I didn't like the look of yellow fogs compared with the HID's - just looked out of place in my opinion. I think driving with fogs on all the time is so yesterday!! "Take note BMW drivers" !!!

So is it a bumper off job to replace foglight bulbs??

There is a how to install fog lights:
[HOW-TO] Install fog lights

Surely "how to" change the bulb is in the manual?

Yes, "how to" is in the manual but there is extra 'skirting' on the Type R and access to the bolt is not possible (well, as far as I can see) without removing it.

Anyone have a similar problem?

Hi. I have the exact same problem. Anyone who can explain the job on the Type R model?

BTW, as has been mentioned White fog light bulbs are a problem as they then don't do what they're sposed to do, and they just reflect back and work badly, however aestetically, if it's foggy enough to use the lights, A> I would be more worried about seeing where I'm going, and B> Who can see you in the fog

I thought fog lights were better in yellow as they reflect less than white and cut through the mist?

Who's going to see you anyway if it's foggy?...everyone will be glued to their windscreen trying to see in front of their own cars.
