Pottsy has done a "How To", to make it a bit brighter, if you care to do a search.
A member has replaced the bulb with a larger one, and posted within the last few days. Please use the Search, as it saves so much space.

Think a brighter bulb may be a distraction when driving at night.

True alastair, but the standard one is a bit something of nothing, isn't it.

There you go.
Good search engine, isnt it.
Pottsy took the light cover off and using a little dremel drill, increased the slit in the plastic to an oval shape, to follow the shape of the bulb, so it would all look neat and tidy.

I don't mind it not having a real use it adds a little bit of interest to the cabin at night

I have the same light in my CR-V and it seems slightly brighter
though it could just be my imagination

also the i-shift car have a glossy clear perspex cover ontop of the gear lever and the little blue light reflects off this

Its quirky things like this that make the Civic so desireable!

Sorry Pottsy,
I thought that it was your cunning plan, to oval out the little slit in the light cover.
