'RALLY' ROUTE (Proposed by Veritas)
The Turnpike Inn, the meeting up point, via the A627 down into Saddleworth, through the Saddleworth villages and from there to Stalybridge by the B6175. Stalybridge to Glossop will be on dull main roads, no way to avoid it. In the centre of Glossop we will make a left at the crossroads and join the B6105 for the run up out of Glossop, over the old rail lines and past Torside reservoir. This is scenic twisty and fast in places.
From the B6105 we join the A628 for about a mile before turning off onto the A6024 for the run up to Holme Moss. This is another well known road, fast and open, just beware of the sheep! The photo opportunity is at the summit, big car park opposite the radio mast.
From there we descend toward Holmfirth and then by a short, narrow back road to join the A635.
The pub, The Ford Inn (See below), which do food, has an adequate car park and is on the A635, minutes away.
After lunch, people can either head off toward Holmfirth and Yorkshire, or follow Veritas over Saddleworth Moor back to Saddleworth in the direction of Manchester.

LUNCH:
The Ford Inn & Restaurant
Greenfield Road
Holmfirth
HD9 2LS
Tel: (01484) 854 741
Fax: (01484) 854 795

Prizes

At great personal expense I have just ordered a cup for presentation at the meet. I think it is the one I just grabbed from the catalogue for AceTrophies who have a shop round the corner from me.

It will have a badge featuring crossed chequered flags and a suitable engraved legend on the base.

I will release details of how you can win this magnificent trophy in a later posting, for now I await the engraving step and pick up the little beauty tomorrow afternoon.

What the Cup is For

So here it is in all its glory:

It will be awarded to the person who has not 'messed about' with our creator's original specifications, the person who has made the minimum number of upgrades:

If you have got new alloys, if you have upgraded the sound system, if you have added body kits, if you have upgraded bulbs, the more you have upgraded the less likely you are to win the cup and the associated title.

The person with the least number/expense of upgrades to Honda's holy creation will be awarded the cup (and the title that goes with it) until the next meet; this will allow them to make reparation and avoid the cup at the next meet. Not that the cup itself is any embarrassment, but perhaps the title will be : The clue is in the engraving.

The holder will receive an 'appropriate title' for the duration.
