Nearest postcode I could find was KY16 9JA which is 'Golf Place, St. Andrews' - marked as the red circle on the map below. Driving along Golf Place, leads on to Bruce Embankment, and then West Sands Road.

The car parks we are aiming to meet in are somewhere near the yellow oval shape drawn on the map - off West Sands Road, St Andrews.

Hope the weathers okay on Sunday.

Is it the first of the parking areas on the West Sands Rd or one of the others we will be meeting in? (I think there were three different areas) or do we meet in the 2nd one with less cars around us and better photo opportunities?

Shall we try the 2nd one along (The one near the 2nd mini roundabout?), which should be quieter - more chance of us being able to park together, and if not, once we all arrive we could always move further along (away from the town), so that we can park together ??

Forecast doesn't look brilliant for Sunday at the moment - BBC weather says predominantly heavy rain (Should make the parking easier though )

I'm aiming to be there before 11.00 anyway - should only be about 40 minutes from home.

Apologies, won't get the car back until Monday or Tuesday. There wasn't much point turning up at a civic meet in an Alfa

Oh I don't know - one future Civic owner (Stuart?) turned up in an Elise. He's due to pick his Tangerine Civic up a week tomorrow I think.

Cars from the left tangotypeS, SC07 Civic, dmacg69, pjr, and Stuart's Elise

Scot Meet1.jpg

Day ended on a bit of a sour note for me, as when we came back to the cars I was going to take some pictures and was looking along the side of my car and noticed a dent, just below the window on the passenger door - which has also pinged a bit of paint off. (Not sure I have enough 's there though)

Doesn't really look like a door opening sort of dent, due to the position. May well have been an errant golf ball as we were beside one of the St Andrews golf courses, although a fair distance away from the edge of the fairway. (And I'm a golfer, so know how far away is sensible to park - I thought we would be ok)

Have sent an email form off to Dent Devils, and will see what they say.

Nice to meet you all yesterday. Sorry I couldn't stay longer but my groceries were gently warming in my boot.

Really good to speak to real live owners and also see a Tango Type S in the flesh again.

Yep I get my Type S GT delivered next Monday and am now more excited than ever.

Thank you to Chi (sp?) for the tip about getting a SatNav with Bluetooth for my phone. I bought a TomTom 520 on eBay last night so will see how I get on with that. Should also be able to use it in the elise.

Really sorry to hear about the damage to the sparkling silver Type S. I would be very surprised if a golf ball could that damage to that part of the car considering you were a wee bit away from the fairway. That said, it does seem to be kind of golf ball shaped.

Until the next time when hopefully I will have a more suitable car.

Stewart

Sorry, Stewart, spelt your name wrong - had a 50/50 chance

Good to meet you as well, and thanks for showing us your Elise.

Don't give up pjr, just because one company won't attempt it, another might, it's worth trying a few more.

Hope you find someone to sort it for you

Yes, will do - although there doesn`t seem to be that many in this area.

Almost resigned to doing it via insurance - £100 xs & protected NCB. Not ideal, but might be as cheap in the long run.

I know it's a pain but that's why we pay it, and ultimately you want you car right again.

Yep - I'm just glad it's on the passenger side where I can't see it (as much)

No claims in 19 years I've been pretty lucky.

Get a quote to have it repaired at a bodyshop it might not be as expensive as you think. My last car was subject to a hit and run. The drivers door was damaged and it didn't cost that much to get repaired.
