Hi tpeachma, I'll be over in Leinster in about 3 weeks time for a couple of weeks - it would be cool if there was any sort of meet on.

Irish meet up

Suggest we wait til there's a few more, then pick a location? Unless it's just the 3 of us!

Irish meet up.

Believe it or not, I bought the demo model that was used in Mondello for promotional stuff. Seems well sorted.

I didn't get to drive around Mondello, I just bought it cause it was the first 1.8 available in Ireland at the time and got a slight discount as it had 150km on the clock. The bad news is that at 9:10 this morning, a Tesco Ireland lorry driver decided having a black car meant he couldn't see me and decided to rub his truck against the driver's side of my car! Photo's of my damaged baby attached. Am fully comp so the problems in front of me are probably driving a Nissan Micra (A Jazz would be interesting) hire car for a few days and missing my own.

Now where did I put that neck brace?

Hey chaps, would definitely be up for a meetup sometime in May, as long as it isn't too far from Dublin/Dundalk

Truck stopped, all details exchanged etc. I was stationary when it happened so the liability is all his. Keep an eye out for Tesco trucks! You never know, I might end up with Type R after all this. Not a chance. Will update here if necessary. Anyway, can possibly still make meet if and when location and date decided. Possible suggestion is the parking area at the top of Howth, north Dublin. Easy to get to and big enough to handle a fair few of us.

Irish Meetup

End of May fine except 24th, early June a no-no as I'm on holidays til mid June. Oh and BTW, they gave me a Kia Rio hire car. If only it had tinted windows, I could hide my shame!

Don't be slagging the Rio! It won caravan tow car of the year award one year you know! My Mother has a free one for the last year to try out from KIA. I asked here why she liked it? She says "because it's free!"

Rio isn't too bad... there are worse motors out there!

My partner has a 1.5 diesel Cerato. It's a pretty decent motor, nice bit of kick from the turbo. Her mum has a Picanto and her brother has a Pro Ceed, which is like an updated Cerato, much nicer though. Her dad has a Sorento too.

4 Kias!

You'd never guess they were best mates with the local Kia dealer!
