Civinfo Track day?

Lo guys,

After the suggestions of a ring trip, some members have suggested (and quite rightly so) that we do it one step at a time. So, UK trackday first

I was looking at doing a track day at North Wield Airport with the guys at Honda on Track, after being recommended by a mate.

It's on the 17th October (a Friday I believe), and I thought it might be a good introduction to trackdays for those that have never been before.

I believe it is fairly reasonably priced, at £37, with the day expected to run from 9 till around 4 pm.

What are people's thoughts?

I would love to do one Dave and am a member of the H.O.T. web site.
The only thing is i don't really want to use my car.

I've found a website www.imaginedoingthis.com that has trackdays using their Type R cars at £248 for the day includes lunch i think. It's a bit expensive but includes expert tuition

I'm hoping to do one later this year or soon into the new year when available

Wouldn't mind meeting up at a track day, but wouldn't take my car on the circuit as its a 1.4 and would be not in keeping with the rest of the vehicles!

Would happily take my type-r on a track, otherwise I will never be able to do more than 70mph in this country .

Seriously I would sound stupid if I didn't want to take my car on a track considering that's where it will perform best.

Good idea! It would look a bit sad going round in my 1.4!

Could be up for that after taking mine round RAF Valley airport last Sunday, as long as you don't mind a diesel joining in

Don't forget, extra insurance cost if you declare it (recommended) excessive tyre wear or maybe buy a set of spares if you are serious about tracks.

Can't be adding more weight with a passenger I'm afraid, might let you have a go though .

Not worried about tyres, and track day insurance can be had for as little as £15 but the excess will be huge!

This is a great idea. When I used to go to track days, it was always kit cars, lotui (is that the plural of lotus?) and 'specialist' cars. Having a civic only track day would be great udea. Pls keep us informed.

Well, there are a couple of options.

Hondas on Track have organised one for the 17th, to which we would simply need to drive to, sign on, and enjoy.

Either that, or we can do a Civinfo forum track day, which we would have to organise/take financial responsibility for ourselves.

My thought is that unless there is a significant number of us that are free on the same date, we are best off having a contingent at a pre organised event.

Pottsy, could you add a poll to the thread, with the options:

Yes, I'm up for a trackday
Yes, I'm up for a Civinfo only trackday
Yes, I'm up for either
No, I'd rather do burnouts in a Halfords car park

Cheers

Just to gauge the interest for various options, see where we go from there. (oh, and the last option is meant entirely in jest)
