Yorks/Lancs Meet 25/10/08

Lake District "Autumn Tints" Run

For those wanting to a date for the next Yorks/Lancs meet, here it is. The route is a closely guarded secret at the moment...well it's not, just haven't managed to finalise the exact route. Have tried a few routes round Trough of Bowland and the surrounding area and decided that the roads are a little bit too rough and ready and maybe a bit narrow for a line of 20+ civics (hopefully). So having liased with Smurf79, we have decided on a run in the Lake District.
The rough route is:-
Start just south of Windermere, up to Keswick, across to Ullswater, then down the Kirkstone pass back to Windermere.
Meeting at 10:30 for 11:00

Exact details will be published soon............watch this space!

But for now please add your name below (plus add if you can bring an item for the now legendary raffle)

1. warriorpete (pete) Type S NHB + raffle item

Sorry for scarce details but due to work commitments not been able to get a run in to confirm meet place. Hopefully will be doing a dummy run weekend of 4/5 Oct - details posted after that.

Lake District is a bit too far for me this time . Do you want me to return the cup for some other 'lucky' recipient?

I will have a think about coming, might be a bit to far for me though as well.
If I do come along this would be my first one, how does the raffle work then.

But here's a question how come the Yorks/Lancs meet is going to be in Cumbria. lol

I'll be heading across the M62 from Halifax / Huddersfield area and more then happy to meet anyone coming from East Yorkshire (including anyone docking in Hull from the ferry ) at Birch services if people would like to travel up in convoy

With a good run it shouldn't be much more than an hour from there

What time you leaving from Birch services. I passed it last night picking some friends up from Manchester Airport so I roughly know how long it will take to there from Hull.

I'm sure it must be against forum etiquette to quote yourself but i need to know what to do about the cup. Not that i'm keen to get rid of it or anything

I'm willing to send it to someone or if the next meet is a bit further south bring it along to that one
