John O'Groats to Lands End with The 3 Peaks Challenge

Round about middle to end of next year i'm thinking of doing this to try and raise money for the Parkinsons Disease Charity (something close to my heart), just wondering if anyone else would like to join me on it if i can get it organised. It would be as the title says, John O'Groats to Lands End whilst also doing the 3 Peaks Challenge (Ben Nevis, Scarfel, and Snowdon). Apart from it being a superb rally we'd also be raising money for a great cause as well.

Good luck mate

Are you planning to do the 3 peaks challenge in 24 hours? I have done Ben Nevis and Scafell Pike but not Snowdon.
It would be quite an achievement to complete the 3 peaks challenge and also have a superb rally from John O'Groats to Lands End.

Sounds great How long do you think it will take

Also I have been up Ben Nevis in 2007 and Snowden in 2008 and next year planning Scaffel pike not sure if the Civic will be able to get up Ben Nevis though I understand it's a bit sluggish going up hill, but Ok coming down. lol

Just been looking at the websites and it can easily be done in 72 to 96 hours depending on what time we set off from John O'Groats. Any quicker and its a bonus

I did the driving in a 18 seater Transit Minibus for a friend and his local church doing the three peeks (starting at Ben Nevis) and the first person back from Snowdon arrived back 23 hours 57 mins after they started to walk up Nevis. That was driving a 6 year old full minibus, in cars you should be able to shave some time off.....

Good Luck

I drove down to Lands End a few months ago and enjoyed it. Was thinking of taking the new Civic up to JOG when Im home.

Would be interested in joining up for part of the rally next year, depending when it was of course. Would miss out on the 3 Peaks though.

Keep us informed

Just been on my route finder and it'll about 1020 miles driving, and about 37 hours including climbing the 3 peaks. Been on the three peaks website and they recommend a minimum of 4 per team.

John O'Groats to Fort William: 4Hrs
Ascend and descend Ben Nevis: 6Hrs
Fort William to Wasdale Head: 6Hrs
Ascend and descend Scarfell: 5Hrs
Wasdale Head to Llanberis: 4Hrs
Ascend and descend Snowdon: 4Hrs
Llanberis to Lands End: 8Hrs

Obviously we'd stay overnight on the way down and they recommend dedicated drivers as well then the climbers can rest inbetween unless your sadistic like me and want to climb and drive!

Looking like either July or August when the weather might be a bit better and also seeing if we can blag some people carriers for sponsoring (keep the Honda theme with FR-V's maybe) so that the walkers can rest

I wouldn't mind the driving, but obviously I couldn't climb!

Could you let me let you know early next year when my next treatment schedule is sorted?
