John O'Groats to Lands End Charity Drive 28/02/2009
This will be a charity drive over 3 days with as many Civic's as possible from John O'Groats to Lands End for the Parkinson's Disease Society. The reason i chose this charity is because my Grandfather had the disease and sadly passed away due to it a couple of years ago. The date is special as well as it would have been his 77th birthday. The reason we're doing it in Civic's as well is that my Grandfather was an engineer and was fascinated by car design and how it was evolving all the time and he would have loved the look of all our motors.
On the way down we will pass different landmarks to prove that we have done the route correctly and over Christmas i'll be working out a route so that we don't do too much each day but enough to get us where we need to be. I will need to know final numbers by 19th January 09 at the latest so that i can sort accomodation out for Friday, Saturday and Sunday night. More details about this will be added as soon as possible. I'll be setting up a webpage at justgiving.com so that friends and family can donate easily and Gift Aid will be calculated as well. The PDS are right behind us with this and have said that they will help out as much as possible in organising this as well. The more the better, then we can raise as much as possible for the PDS. If you can't take part then please donate if you can. As they say, every little helps. If you would like to take part in this, please add your name below: -

Hi Gareth

That's a great idea and once you have further details, I'll try and hook up with you in Worcester (if I can get down to Glos that weekend), buy you a pint there, take some photos?
At the very least, post the justgiving.com page and I'll donate. |
