I'm not going.

Why would I want to go and meet random strangers that have the excact same car as I do?

To be honest, I've never really understood these meetings. But then again, I've never been to one either so now way to really tell.
Who's been to one of these and what was it like ?

One the one hand, it's a nice way to share thoughts on a similar subject we all like, but face to face instead of on this board. But on the other hand, it's only a car.

Dunno, perhaps I will.

Are we gonna do 1/4 miles ?

Do you think you could find a straight, flat enough piece of road??

Don't actually know how I find myself reading this thread, but to be honest when we had the very first CivInfo meet we just sat around talking about more than just Civics, the sun was shining the birds were singing. Its just nice to meet people sometimes, there were 8 or so of us, and under normal day to day life I would never have found myself sitting with such a variety of characters and people, all nice of course!!

Hi all,

Maybe i should have made a poll to see if there's anyone interested...

Another possiblity is the good old flash-meet: pick a place, drive there, say hi and everyone goes his/her way. Just a nice excuse to take your Civ for a spin.

reg's, brummer

While I agree that meeting people is nice, I don't see why I should drive halfway across the country to do so. What's wrong with just going to a pub? Or to work? (I work at a lot of different places all the time)

But don't let this grumpy old man stop you from organising a meet, just don't expect me to be there.

I'm sorry. I normally hate pointless posts with too many smilies like this. I just wanted to say ROFLMAO.

Good point !
But it is another way to discover others.
Just maybe to see what people can have in common (more than a car) and to meet new people on another bases (nothing against pub or work encounter...)

A way to show them a place you like, have a picnic and a few beer, and putting a voice/an image on the post we are reading !

If soemone has a few beer and still wants to drive afterwards I'll give the thing a wide berth. Otherwise I would actually be interested if it takes place after mid-Jiune (when I will hopefully get my Civic). Might be fun to get behind one another and drive on the motorway a bit, you know to draw some looks.
