Brands BTCC Meet anyone?

I was thinking it might be a nice idea to have a meet at the BTCC meeting at Brands on the weekend of the 18th/19th August. You often get groups of Seats, and Vauxhalls lined up on the south Bank (The grass area opposite the back of the pits.) and I thought we could make a line up of Civics. The Saturday Qualfying day would probably be the best day to do this as there are less spectators and so more chance of us getting space to park in a group. They do charge £5 extra to park there though. I'm at all the BTCC meetings anyway as I help out some of the smaller teams and drivers with photos, race reports etc. (Fiona Leggate, Adam Jones, Martyn Bell etc.)

Anyone else interested?

Has she got a Space Ship too?

No she's got a Vauxhall Astra for her road car, I think she wouldn't mind a Type R though! Maybe she'll have a go in mine when I get it!

I am too, but it looks like I won't have my Civic by then, probably the week just after instead!

EDIT. I'm going to have my car for that weekend after all

It does sound interesting, is anyone sufficiently involved enough at Brands or with BTCC to arrange something, or are we looking at sourcing tickets individually and then just pitching up and hope to get where we want to be??

As far as I know, the others that do it just turn up on the day. On Saturday there is usually plenty of space there.

It looks like it Although I'll be there whatever happens. One thing I didn't think of before, that I found out when I parked on the South bank for the DTM; There's a bit of a problem with ground clearance (Especially for Type R's!) I managed not to ground out but I drove all through the "off road" bits at 10mph and less!

I'd certainly be up for this as I was planning on going to the BTCC at Brands Hatch anyway. However I'll probably only go on the Sunday.

I am going to chat to the wife about going. Is anyone buying a Grandstand ticket and if so which one?

I take a lot of photos so I don't bother with grandstands but if you do, get paddock hill bend (assuming they give you the choice) you can see nearly the entire indy circuit from there, as long as they don't stick you in the bottom rows! I think I'm going to stick to the top bit of the southbank to park as I'm worried my front splitter will ground out if I head down to the grass! If we want to make a row of Civics we'll have to all get there quite early as it gets busy and then they'll only be scattered spaces.
