I would be up for that, although Rockingham is still a long long way from Scotland, If you looking at a race track, then maybe Oulton Park 4 hours from London and 4 hours from Edinburgh 5 from Cardiff?

Rockingham...

Cracking idea this... I know the lady who runs the racing school (http://www.racing-school.co.uk/) that is based at Rockingham (not in a "I can get a discount" know the lady kind of way but in a "I went single seater racing and organised a group of 15" kind of I know the lady!!).

So I could make some enquiries if there is enough interest??.

Car parking wouldn't be an issue, the place is huge and I think a run on the track is a must.... obviously though, it's the cost that would ultimately make this happen or not.

Let's see what the interest is like and then I don't mind putting the wheels in motion in making the initial enquiries...

Cheers,

Sub.

Too Bland?

I take it you are talking about the oval and not the 8 other configurations on technical in-field circuit...

I've driven Rockingham several times and it's nothing like bland!

I would definitely be interested in the meet, the only thing I fear is last time I went on a track, I was in an Exige, I put it into the barriers at Silverstone....according to the guy there, it was about £10000 worth of damage because the diff and possibly gearbox would also be shattered....however I think he was having a laff, as the pics below show, it was only a side impact, completely flat against barrier, at about 25 mph. Felt a little tbh.

Ah well nvm.

But as I said earlier, I would be interested if this happens.

Rockingham

OK I'm new on the forum so i don't want to step on anyones feet, I was a very active member in a car club up to about a year ago, I used to organize a meet at Rockingham every year around July The 4th (American meet). We got to do a couple of laps around the track, behind a pace car but still managed to get up-to about 80-90 MPH on the back straight. I'm sure i still have the e-mail address of the lady who organized the event. We got Discount on the tickets and get to park inside the circuit with the cars on display. If there was enough interest I'm sure i could get us in to the Touring cars event.
If someone wants to P.M me i can pass on the information, or i could make the preliminary investigations if you want me to.

What you need to do is sort out a date, a venue and start a new thread asking people to sign up.
All this discussion is getting nowhere.
This is the way forward:
Date:
Rockingham or Oulton Park (prefered by us oop North):

What about Donington for the BTCC meet on 4th May 2008 ??
