My Alabaster FN2 Type R :)

Hi All

Heres the start of my Fn2 project.

everything it has works perfect which is a bonus. Air-con is freezing, folding Mirrors work perfect, no knocks. cruise control works,No rips to the interior. so a good starting point

It has FSH with the first four services being at Honda. Had a new clutch Fitted in 2015 and the Gearbox is Spot on with no crunching or 3rd gear issues. Needs a little bit of work to get it to the state id be really happy with

-Bubble on one wiper arm
-one arch cover trim thing needs pinning to sit flush ( Honda Sorting )
-centre section has a small blow ( advisory on MOT )
-Roof has a very small amount of rust showing along the seal ( Honda sorting 5th Sep )

came with the folders and both keys and all the paper work from the work its had and nearly a full MOT.

Since owning I've just been enjoying it for a few weeks to find out what i wanted to do with it. Really enjoy driving the car so i thought i best start making it mine.

Had a Full service Yesterday, plugs oil and so on.
Tinted the rear windows ( Free as my brother does it for a living )
He also Tinted my fogs blue for me .
New leather Gaiter as mine was slightly worn.
Ricks Led footwell Kit fitted.
Sorted the Scratches on the display ( Removed the Anti-Glare )

Next up will be

-sort the exhaust. Going down the custom route i think
-New tyres all round
-Roof being done soon 5th Sep then thinking of a gloss black wrap.
-Alloys Refurbished possibly in gun metal or black chrome.
-Valve clearances done.
-FRSU

Heres some pictures of the mods as I've gone along over the last four weeks or so

Will keep it updated as i go along

Good to see that Honda are sorting some of your issues and that you are modding already.

The car looks well smart.

Nice new gaitor and a decent Paint detail. Da Polished most of the marks and fine scratches out then waxed and then sealed the windows and wheels

Got the beauty back today from Honda after the Roof warranty work. Fantastic service by JT Hughes Shrewsbury.

Next will be to get some wiper arms powder coated once the corrosion is removed and then get my custom exhaust sorted and lowering springs fitted

few small updates. Thursday i has the Eibach Springs fitted. Really pleased with how it sits and the feel of the car now.
Much more responsive and still plenty of comfort. Haven't got the camber bolts fitted due to not being able to get FRSU till the end of the month.

Friday i dropped my car off to have a Custom 2.5" Cat-Back. 35 mile trip with the new springs and Meyle Hd Drop links felt so much better. Nice windy roads and the car loved it. handling Hugely improved.

Today i travelled back over to collect the car. It was just being leak checked so i had a quick look around. Really impressed with the work and how it sounded.

The drive home was awesome, Nice deep tone low down but the rasp slowly comes through as Vtec Is reached. Really pleased with it, possibly a little loud but luckily its not used daily

heres a quick video of how it sounds and now sits

Few Little updates

been lowered on the -15mm Eibach Progressive Springs, new Meyle HD Drop links.

H7R 35w 6k Hids ordered - thought 55w would be to much but could be wrong.
Project Mu ns400 pads on order
Brembo discs arrived and waiting.

also fitted some exh011 powerflex exhaust mounts to the rear to remove some vibration. Has made a huge difference.

Fitted the front camber bolts yesterday and then took it to get adjusted and tracked.

next up :

- remove the rear lights to De-algae
- Fit the new pads and discs and get the fluid replaced
- valve clearences checked and adjusted
- wheels refurbished and new front tyres

heres a few Detailing pictures and from the tracking. let me no what you think of the results as I'm not up to speed on geometry settings.

Nice work bud!

How hard were the exhaust mounts to fit? I've heard mixed opinions on how easy they are to fit.

Great thread. Looking to lower mine soon so the above shopping list is usefull. Are the drop links an essential to replace? Europarts currently have a sale on reducing the price of 2 x Q Drive ones for £36. Also nice to see pressed plates, was unsure how theyd look but now ive seen them im off to order some

Drop links worth doing for the price whilst getting springs done. Meyle HD are very good and only £40 on ebay.
