jaxckhan ishift 1.8 type s gt

hi there all i have been on this wonderful forum since august 2016 and i thought i might as well share my experience on what i have done to my car, my car is a 2008 and came totally standard, i did buy it for my wife but she found it difficult to reverse park, so i kept it for myself and brought her a suzuki swift, i just wish i took more photos of what i wanted to do with the car i will add photos as i go along,

So first things first after reading all the frightening story's about the i shift, i thought why not change it to a manual, could it be done buy non qualified spanner monkeys, well the answer to that is yes, and for Evey one who will say why didn't you just sell this one and get a manual, well i enjoy challenge,

So it was time to get parts, what would i need, well the question to that was i go straight to one of my many cousins who own breaker yards, and pick and choose what i need, ( I'm not greedy) i do them all favours all the time, so a gear box was needed, a clutch pedal, a brake pedal a flywheel, a clutch dampener, gear stick assembly, clutch cables, and clutch master cylinder and clutch cylinder, and clutch lines, the clutch lines where the hardest to get as at the breakers they just cut them, and i did not want to make my own lines using my old false tools, and i got a brand new clutch and fluids

Next was installing the manual gear box clutch pedal brake pedal gear stick and all the clutch lines

That pesky clip wasted a good hour as the breakers just chuck them away, and i never had a replacement because my car had the i shift which is connected via a plug,

So now that everything is put back together, will the car start, well it didn't, it was that pesky button behind the triangle trim that needed to be pressed, and the car started up, the dash lights went mad, the dreaded cog light was on and all sorts, but the car needed to be test driven, so took it for a test drive and called it a night
Got the gear knob and gaitor from a member on this site,

I had already done the LPG wiring for the car and had put in the injectors just had to install the tank in the spare wheel place run all the pipes, get it saftey checked and get a log conversion. Certificate issued, by a certified installer, i didn't take any pics as i didn't every think that i would be posteing a tread on my own car, i have allways enjoyed reading on the site what other people have done to their cars

By this time i had already put fly eye tint on the front and the back lights, i have used it on most of my cars, and have never had any problems with it and the police have never said anything about it
I put some rim blades on my alloys, they do Thier job but made my alloy wheels look smaller, so went on the hunt for some alloy wheels, and on my older Hondas that i had i allways put a set of tooras on, but they were four stud, so found a set of rotas, got a photo of them on the ad, but will post picks of how they look after i refurbed them

Well done on the hard work thus far. I agree i also enjoy a challenge but the automatic even ishift carries a premium over a conventional Manual, can i ask why not just sell this one and buy a manual? it would seem more cost effective unless this is a pristine example?

thanks @Farqui i love working on cars and, its my hobby, @lightningslow idid enjoy the car when it was a ishift mate, but it was nowhere near as being like an automatic as i had expected, and i am one of them people who once sets their minds on something then i have to do it, money comes and goes and i am not into the fast driving otherwisei would have dropped in a type r engine in it, as i have got access to parts, i got a car tucked away for summer time tucked away for track days for that,
