Small update. I went to a place called Custom Coats near Newcastle to see about getting my door handles and wing mirrors painted. After discussing it with the owner, I changed my mind and instead I've had them vinyl wrapped. Basically it worked out cheaper and it was a quicker job and the finish is guaranteed for 5 years. This was essential for me as I was disappointed with how quickly the condition of the carbon wrap I had on deteriorated.

I have to give a big recommendation to the owner and the one who actually done the work, Anthony. Customer service is top notch. He's a super friendly guy and he actually done my mirrors twice because the first time he wasn't 100% happy. He also touched up some curbing on my alloys for free. Now that I've used him once he's also going to give me a discount on any future work I get done there (which will be calipers painted).

Most importantly of all though I turned up to drop the car off badly hungover and he gave me a bottle of water lol. Doesn't sound like much but I tell you what I was in absolute clip and that bottle of water was a bloody lifesaver!

Cheers mate. Yeah I had a big list of places I was going to go and get quotes from because it is so hard to find somewhere decent that you can trust. What won me over about this guy is he seemed genuinely interested in my car and what I had planned for it and we discussed the job at length. I think good, friendly customer service is a must.

Tell me about it. There's a place in Durham that done an absolutely shocking job for me once and they'd actually been recommended by people in online reviews. That's when I decided that I was going to have to do full on inspections of places and interrogate the people who'd be touching my car before letting them near it!

I've been a few places and none of them actually wanted to wrap them as they said it won't last unless they stripped the door handle down so they could fold the edges in so they didn't peel and because of that everyone said best way is to paint.

I'm but off with paint as it's used daily so can imagine it scratching really easy where as the vinyl would stand up better. So I'm still unsure lol

I'm also after a civic aftermarket fuel cap so I can get that painted CW, went Honda today see if they had any returned under warranty but they hadn't as I don't really want pay £100 for a brand new one to then send off be painted.

Luckily the guy has told me that if I have any issues at all with the wrap he'll sort it free of charge but looking at the handles I don't think it'd peel away that easily. Could be wrong though, time will tell!

That's one of the reasons he recommended against painting, the fact that it'd end up getting scratched. Plus if I ever return to stock for selling it's just a case of getting it removed whereas obviously paint is a different matter.

A decent bodyshop should be able to do the fuel cap for you really quickly. Mine only took like 3 hours IIRC.

Not sure yet mate. I wanted AD08's but it looks like they're not available anymore so thinking maybe the Goodyear Eagle Asymmetric's.

I'll have to text you my new phone number because I lost my iPhone on Saturday night in Newcastle

The goodyears are a really great tyre in dry and wet, low road noise and I would pick them over the AD08 as there only great in the dry.

Could always run my Toyo R888's

Haha you had a mad night then I take it lol yeah either text or pm me your number

The Goodyears are a lot cheaper too! The Toyo R888's are a semi-slick aren't they? I'd only be using these wheels in dry conditions but still think that those would be a bit too OTT for my needs lol. You'll have to let me know how you get on with them.

I had a horrendous night yeah. Had loads of stuff on that phone that I didn't have backed up as well. Not happy at all! Oh and I was being a mong about the wheel nuts I have. Checked and they are tapered after all.
