ECU Upgrade

Hey there,

Just wondered if there is a ecu update for my particular model as I've been having the issue described here:

http://www.civinfo.com/forum/bugs-fa...esitation.html

If so what costs are involved?

It's a 06 1.8 petrol.

Cheers

It shouldnt cost anything, its just a cable they plug in and they upload it to the car, et voila
At least i didnt have to pay for it so i guess you wont either!

If I were you I would have a word with the dealership as it could be that new softwear should be updated on the ECU.

Your engine could also need a good clean internally - i'm guessing you have a full service history. Maybe try putting a tank of V-Power through it and see if the hessitation goes. This is what VW recommend to customers who especially use supermarket fuel as there can be carbon build up within the engine and the cleaning agents within V Power flushes the engine through and stops the hessitation

Thanks guys,

I took the car in when I first bought it to NH who gave the whole thing a cleanup and flush which made a big difference, about 3 months ago now (felt like it was gunna give up any moment before).

I'll give them a call and see what they say.

sounds like a build up of crap in the engine and a flush through with V Power will do the job - if it is a build up then a ECU flash won't do anything for you.
