Eps Light On,speedo Going Crazy

Hi
I have a 02 civic type r, when driving this morning
the eps light came on and the speedo and rev counter
needle started flickering up and down
plus the power steering goes hard now and again,
can anyone help??

No its not good, just thought id get a idea of wot it is as its same running gear as the the new model
be for i take it to dealers

Odds are it's a loose earth (or similar) - but it will need the dealer to look at it.

Definitely an electrical problem - look under the bonnet for rodent bites on the cables (no joke!) and if there are none, it means a trip to the dealer I guess

Both civcs at work had the steering racks replaced under warranty. Not sure of the cause but it sounds similar. Both cars have covered less mileage than yours and are on a 53 plate. Maybe down to abuse or bad driving as these are both company cars with many different unsympathetic drivers. Does seem odd that both should go at roughly the same time and mileage with same type of fault.

Am I mistaken or is the rack on this last generation electric/hydrulic power steering.

well guys it went in today and they did a diagnostic check
and reset all the fault codes, and fingers cross it seems ok
