Civic alarm and immobiliser

Hi guys,

How can u tell if the civic is alarmed, i lock the car with the fob but it doesnt make any indication an alarm is activated e.g. indicators flashing, my car has a flashing green key icon also, is this the immobiliser?

my car is a civic 1.8 VTi, 1998 R reg which doesnt seem too popular on these boards, but...

if anyone can help?

No Factory fitted alarm on these models the remote is just for the central locking but the immobiliser is Thatcham Category 2.

Sounds about right to me.

The green light only shows the immobiliser kicking in when you have taken the ignition key out.

Alarms were an accessory item on this Civic. You'll need to get one fitted which interfaces with your central locking.
