Steering Problems! Can anyone help?

Hi everyone!

Need some help and advice!! For some unknown reason my Honda Civic (2002) has developed some sort of steering malfunction. Everytime i hit a pot hole or bump in the road my steering wheel pulls into the uneven surface. At times it feels like your fighting to keep it straight! Any suggestions/help would be really appreciated!

To a degree the wheel will naturally pull into a hole but if it is too excessive i would get it looked at mate

yeah it's quite excessive at times. I've had the wheels aligned and that hasn't helped at all!

My old EP3 used to tramline quite badly on rough roads. Feels like you are being pulled into all the uneven bits.

But isn't this a feature if you have wide tyres?

It also had lots of torque steer which made it feel like it was pulling you towards where you didn't want to go sometimes!!

If you have fitted wider tyres than the previous ones it's rather normal, otherwise - maybe the shocks are run down and need replacement?

the car has had modified wheels added, which are quite wide! So it looks like this could be the problem! Thanks for your help!!

If you have tyres with reinforced sidewalls on your wheels, changing them for a different tyre (without) will probably solve the problem.

My 18" alloys felt really bad until I ditched the Yokohamas for Vredstein Ultracs.
