Exclamation rev/turbo problem (merged)

HEY I HAVE A 1.7CDTI CIVIC (04) DRIVES PERFECTLY BUT AFTER HAVING MY FOOT DOWN FOR A BIT THE TURBO TUNS OFF AND I CANT REV PAST ABOUT 2,600rpm SUM1 HELP ,ME PLZ!!!

Welcome kh,

This forum is for the 06-> Civic, but you may be lucky and find someone who has had one of these in the past or recognises this as a generic problem.

I donīt know if these engines had a "limp home mode", if they do it could be that the engine developes some kind of faults and moves into this mode, limiting the revs.

rev/turbo problem

help! having a little trouble with my 1.7cdti civic (04). drives fine but after a while the turbo stops and it wont let me rev over 2.600 rpm! help plz as my car isnt enjoyabl without the turbo in use

Best bet is take it to a garage cos it sounds like you've got either a blown turbo or a damaged turbo inlet and the ECU is putting the car into limp home mode due to the MAP sensor giving a false reading

IF it is a blown turbo, then yes, but it could be much less dramatic.
