oil usage 97 Civic 1.5
hi everyone. ive got a 1997 honda civic 1.5 vtece 5 door hatchback. im just wondering how much oil i should be going through. at the moment its going down about 5mm on the dipstick every 1000. i dont seem to be leaking oil or burning it. ive got 10w40 oil in it. if im using to much should i change to 15w40??

I have owned a civic 3 doors 2000 with a 1.5 vtec engine 114 bhp.
and I must say that in all the years (7) I owned the car , I never had to fill her up with extra oil. I had serviced (10 w 40 synthetic oil) the car every 7500 km , and I regularly checked the oil, but it always stayed at the same level. I think there is something wrong with the engine of your car, better let have a look at it with regards hans |
