Can / Can't drive an auto

An auto is a good option if you are too stupid to know how and when to change gear.

...................how stupid is that comment? You obviously have no comprehension of how this system operates. It is not a standard auto, it is an automated manual box and people that knock it haven't quite developed enough skill and expertise to use it properly, or perhaps they do just want a more 'ordinary' type of auto.

Ps: You don't see many F1 drivers fiddling with a stick!

There speaks a "driver" who has never mastered the art of driving an automated box, welcome to the 21st century

It is perfectly obvious why you are saying what you are saying
it is because you can't drive an automatic (like quite a few other people
who only drive manual cars)

I can drive either but choose to have an automatic

Jazzman, I saw this but noticed the wink, and assume that it's a humorous comment that can be read 2 ways.

My dear boy I can indeed drive an auto if i were dull() enough to wish to but if i want to drive a car without using the clutch then im pleased to say that i have more than enough driving skill to be able to do so in a manual transmission.

These posts were getting a bit too far off the topic in hand (and were bordering on being beyond banter), so have been separated from the main thread.
