You don't need to sign up for the o2 contract at all. You get the paperwork, and you sign up online later. If you want to unlock it, there's plenty of info on how to do so online.

These are £169 everywhere but Apple's store.

I have a iphone and i can jailbreak them in 5 minutes, Mines been jailbroken for a few months now, and every time a new version comes out i even jailbreak that! So even if you buy one of the new ones it can be cracked -PM me if you want to know how... very very easy but at your own risk.

Unfortunately for me I figured out how to jailbreak it after going through proper online itunes activation process and its here that you are completing the contract (not in the shop, u simply pay and walk away). BUT if you jailbreak it before this activation point then hey presto, Iphone minus the 35quid/18month contract!

jail breaking is not unlocking the iphone to use with any sim. this is fully jail broken and unlocked.
