Swap Shop - manual for i-shift anyone?

I know it's a long shot, but does anyone fancy swapping cars?

I only ask to see if it could be done. Basically I went to a stealer today to find out about getting a used i-shift in exchange for my manual and here's some figures for you to think about........

2006 Civic EX (05 Plate) 7,500 miles, brand new alloys & studio pack.

Bought Oct '06 (Used - first Reg 02/06) - £16,850 (not inc Studio pack Camera Etc.)

Stealer offered me today - £12,700!!!

So I thought rather that give those thieving gypsies £5k of my well earned money for having a car for just 7 months I'd see if anyone was sick of their i-shift and fancied a swap?

Let me know - loving all your work

Moo!

So much for the "gentle depreciation curve."

You're telling me?? Somehow I don't think I'll ever be trading my car in again - honestly they said I could have a new EX for £18,000 or there abouts and I was like, yea, thanks.......but I'm not loosing £5,000 and giving you another £5k only for them to sell my current car for £16,000.

Does anyone have any idea how much an 06EX, 2 owners, 7,500 miles great condition with studio pack is worth? Surely its worth more than £12,700?

There's a saying in Northern Ireland...... they must have thought I came up the Lagan in a bubble........in other words, they clearly thought I was stupid!!!

So if anyone has an i-shift they'd like to swap for a manual, I'd be willing to talk!

With depreciation you will always take a hit in the first few years and then the curve will flatten out.

Are you sure its a 05 plate? 02/06 should be a 55 shouldn't it?
I think you are probably looking at one of the worst possible scenarios in terms of the value of your vehicle so it might not be as bad you think

With regards to accurate value for your car, these are the figures:-

Dealer £13,945
Private £12,995
Part exchange £12,645
Trade £12,045

You might get a bit more for the Sports Pack if you are selling private, but these figures are pretty much spot on.

It is quite heart breaking to see these figures for such a young car. That is what made me buy a 2nd Hand Civic as wanted the 1st owner to take the 1st year depreciation hit.

Sorry - yes it is a 55 plate!

Still the above figures are a bit scary!

That's why I think anyone that's not happy with their i-shift should swap with me - that way, no-one looses out! Heheheheheh!

Can I just ask if anyone has actually seen a 55 EX for sale at a stealers for £13 or £14k? I think the figures are used by them to their own advantage! The cheapest I've seen is £15,500??
