Testing the water 2! FS Type S 17" Wheels

I may have a set of standard Type S 17" alloy wheels with tyres for sale soon.
The wheels are in as new condition and the tyres have done about 2000 miles.

Would there be interest as I presume they would fit any Civic that can take 17" alloys.
And how much would I get, is £500 about right?

Bugger!! I've just bought some 17" wheels about 3 weeks ago, I would've bought them off you!
Just as a bit of a guide for you I sold my 16" standard wheels for £300, I rekon you are in the right sort of ball park with £500

Danko is thinking of selling the Kahn RSV wheels fitted to his Type R. It is mentioned in another thread titled 'Testing the water'.
I like the standard wheels, but yearn for something bigger.

i would keep the originals. use these in the winter, swop to your others for the spring summer & autumn. then when you sell it you can put the standard wheels back on, as the buyer my not like your aftermarket wheels, and could end up loosing the sale.

im thinking of going down this road.

There are 2 problems I have
1. Money .Unless Danko can give me the wheels, I have to sell the old ones.
2. No room for storing 4 alloy wheels. This problem comes down to the answer given as no. 1.

Thanks for the idea, so unless you can give me £500 and store the wheels at your place until I need them back , I will have to pass

So you may have the 17's for sale then....well I have an ES on 16's that I would not mind changing for the 17's.

I can store the 16's at my Dad's as he has a new mega shed with loads of space.

If this develops and we want to start a chain of alloy purchases then gimme a shout!

At the moment, I am keeping my alloys, but I am keeping an eye out for anything that takes my fancy.
If I do find something I like, I will keep you in mind.
Cheers

17-18" alloy wheels

Hi All,

New to the site. Have a black 2.2 1-ctd-i ES.

I'm looking to buy some 17-18" Honda Alloys. Quite like the 17" Type S wheels. Anybody got anything for sale?

cheers

Hi Ben, I think if you look around, you will only be looking at the 17"s. If you have an ES, it will be factory fit with 16"s therefore you can only afford an extra inch, unless the suspension is all changed.

Thanks for that, I was wondering what the situation would be with suspension ect. Perfect spelling by the way!

Any recomendations in terms of wheel design? I'm plumbing for the Type S variety at the moment but haven't really looked at the options.

Depends on the colour of the car. We have Cosmic grey, and I am trying to talk the mrs round to some nice Storms, which are a dark grey rather than silver. They are very nice!

Honda do list a 17" Blade wheel, they do look particularly gorgeous.
Pics of the 18" version are in this thread
Bronze Civic Type S GT 18" blades & colour coded image pack

And sorry Benjamin, I am keeping the standard wheels for now.
