For Sale Kawaskai GPZ900R 1985 - a Classic
OK I know it's neither a CIvic or a Honda but it is a nice Japanese Classic, the original Superbike. I have to let it go as garage space is at a premium (and if you check the miles you'll see I've hardly used it in the past year).
![]() ![]() I can't guarantee the mileage but think it's about right. I have MOTs going back to 1996 as below which would lead me to believe the mileage is about right. Oct 28th 1996 to Oct 27th 1997 showing 38872 miles Oct 20th 1997 to Oct 27th 1998 showing 42334 miles Aug 24th 1998 to Aug 23rd 1999 showing 44377 miles Aug 21st 1999 to Aug 23rd 2000 showing 46405 miles Aug 18th 2000 to Aug 23rd 2001 showing 53110 miles Dec 2nd 2002 to Dec 1st 2003 showing 56429 miles Apr 30th 2004 to April 29th 2005 showing 56761 miles Apr 23rd 2005 to Apr 29th 2006 showing 58409 miles May 20th 2006 to May 19th 2007 showing 61428 miles June 2nd 2007 to June 1st 2008 showing 63094 miles Currently showing 63818 miles (19th August 2007) ZZR front end and GSXR 4 pot Tokicos ![]() Set up with ZZR bars ![]() Shot from rear showing ZZR rear wheel and decent 160 section tyre ![]() I think that covers most things, as you can see it's had the front end changed for a ZZR600D with Ohlins +10% springs and 15w oil as opposed to 10w as standard. It has a Hagon rear shock about 2 ½ years old. Basically it is sound mechanical condition but it is not showroom, could do with a bit of touching up in the paint department in a few places, bottom edge of the tank (normal on these) etc. It currently has POD air filters on and a dynojet kit fitted. It has a full stainless steel 4 into 1 system - road legal (not such an issue on a bike of this age. It also has the later A7/A8 mirrors on so you can actually see behind you. I have the centre stand, bolts and spring (not currently fitted). It's an absolute hoot to ride, brakes are surprisingly good and the Macadam tyres seem to suit it well. Starts fine but if left for 2-3 weeks it does take some churning over to get it to fire, an Optimate is a good idea (new battery may help but it's not that bad). MOT runs to 1st June 2008 and it's taxed til Oct 2007. Good fun solid bike and I have really enjoyed owning it for the past 2 ½ years or so but has to go as the garage is getting full I'd like around £1000 for it but am open to SENSIBLE offers. the bike is in Sale South Manchester and can be viewed at weekends so can be collected from there. I can also with notice arrange for pick up from the Milton Keynes area as I travel down to there every week. |
