Private Plate for sale! Reads-*BAKER*

Hi. I have for sale a private number plate which is R18 AKE

Which when set out as RI 8AKE

I have put a red R on the end of the plate for the Type R which i have, to read BAKER, but if you dont have the Type R then it reads BAKE.

This plate was bought for £500 in 1998 so nearly 10 years ago.

Im asking for around £250

Cheers

As per the rules of the classified ads, you need to state a price.

Can I point out that it is illegal to alter the spacing of letters, including the 'doctoring' of numbers, for driving on the road. In the event of an accident you could find your insurance invalid, or (even if you were not to blame) you would be held responsible as your car should not have been on the road with illegal plates. In addition, you can be stopped by the police and receive a heavy fine plus you would have to remove your car from the road immediately.

well i appritiate you pointing that out to me, but ive had the plate on my cars for the past 10 years, and have only been stopped once, and that was due to the number plate light now working not the plate itself, and the wife actually was involved in a minor bump that wasnt her fault last year with the plate on, and nothing came of it. I supose it bepends on how much you try to adjust the plates ie making a 3-E 4-A and so on.

I hear the Police are tightening up on modified number plates. Like you say though it depends on how much you modify them. I've seen some really bad ones though. The problem is even with a slightly doctored one, once you've been stopped and warned you'd be a fool to to keep driving around with it on.

Although mis spacing is illegal, most people just think it's a bit pathetic and attention seeking really. You should get one you don't have to change, there's a million times more kudos in that.

LNT I just think it is a waste of money to buy a plate you need to mis space for it to mean anything to you and then the first time you get stopped for it you have to display it properly from then on or get fined.

When I worked in London, I would often see a 911, owned by the girlfriend of Paul Raymond, the strip club king.
The number was FU 2.
What would that be worth now.

I agree but I'd like to apologise for saying it was pathetic and attention seeking. I should have been more diplomatic.
