We did this a few years ago, from the Isle of Skye to Inverness.

Took it steady and completed it in a day, with a few stops to stretch the ol'bones ;)

The scenery is stunning, highly recommended.

The roads are mostly single carriageway with overtaking spots. Going could be slow if there's lots of traffic. We did it mid week, out of the main holiday season.

That's where Evo done their car of the year test, looks like there is some cracking roads!

As Farqui said though I think it would be better to take it easy and enjoy it rather than thrashing through it :p

I was thinking the following...

Drive to Inverness and stay night
Inverness to Thurso
Thurso to Ullapool
Ullapool to Inverness
Inverness back home

Just a suggestion but think its best to get the mileages a bit shorter because there will be a few stops for lunch, great scenery photos etc!

And also if you have a spare half hour here is the COTY video -

Depends if people can get holidays from work... I was thinking maybe a Friday or Saturday to leave so no one would have to take a full week off work? That's just my opinion though :p

And CDT we could try to plan one a bit closer to you for next year ;)
