This thread is about: Change!, it's in Site suggestions, feedback and rules at the Honda Civic forum Civinfo; I seem to keep losing the smilies off my posts although that seems to have worked . Any ideas why...

Pottsy just tried them on your test thread and they seemed to work ok now.

Thanks for the quick response Click the image to open in full size.

BTW just found that you can drag & drop from the Post Icons to this edit screen Click the image to open in full size.

Anyone having problem with the "subscribe thread " tool or icon or thingy ( not sure the right term for it ) Click the image to open in full size.
I have to keep unsubscribing to threads that I didn't subscribe in the first place.

yes....
I think.

I'm getting notifications fot this thread for example, and I'm not sure why

Although I may have replied to it before changing my profile to not subscribe as default

just need to remember how to unsubscibe now - found the place that lists all subscriptions ( 7 of them)...

aha - pre-edit - went to hit 'submit reply' and noticed the 'thread subscription' bit just below

Thanks TT

Now that you've mentioned about it, i think i am going to change the thread subscription notification type to "do not subscribe" in the addional options.

I hope this works. Click the image to open in full size.

Edit :
I have also change the subscription thingy in the user cp under edit option. Is that ok Click the image to open in full size.

One thing; if I post to a new thread then it'll tell me that it's got an unread post.
Technically it does, yes...but I wrote the damn thing so I know what it says!

We've changed a few of the default behaviours to bring them more in line with the older site, and with other vbulletin forums. Do PM myself or Pottsy if there are annoyances you can't live with - most things are editable.

Yes, this is slightly annoying, and the vb people know about it - hopefully it will be fixed in the future.

Jazz, I had to decide to set everyone one way or the other - so I went for "subscribe" as the default. My thinking was that experienced users would then find the setting and turn it off (or manage it), whereas new users who would never spot it would be pleasantly suprised when they magically got an email from the site telling them someone had replied to their post.

As bg said, there a setting for almost everything here (I'm still learning...) and users also have loads of settings to chose from in the "User CP". Keep playing!

PS - I even used the "Multi quote" function for the above (button to the right of the "Quote" button by each post - you can click on several before pressing "Post reply")

Thanks Pottsy

I have a feeling that by posting quick reply , the subscription would not be added. It's only when we post on the go advanced that we receive emails from the site.
