Well, this is the stuff spotted by DT. After 2ta introduced themselves to me and basegreen by threatening legal action against us, I decided to have a bit of fun:

Not at all - just people who don't understand the internet, by all accounts.

I set up this site, and within a short period users chose to come here for many reasons. This site is non-commercial, but 2ta is there purely to make money (notice that Honda is a "sponsor") and so losing users will cost them money. So they had to stop us. And I think they assumed that bg & I were little kids and would be scared by some very threatening language. Of course, we are not kids, and the threat was hilariously off target. The accusation was that we were "passing off", which means in essence conning users that they were on the 2ta website and that users would then order goods or services from us thinking they were actually ordering from 2ta. Their "evidence" was a screenshot of a thread entitled "2ta" (except it was the whole name).

Obviously I just ignored them! Made me giggle though....

And in my case - I was targeted because I was a user with moderation rights on the board. They wrongly presumed that this site was owned by myself. In fact, they contacted me first. My original username was the same as the one on their site, and they used my contact details given to them for a competition to serve the legal threat against me. This was a breach of the data protection act, as information was used for purposes other than that it was collected for.

Obviously, with all my troubles with my faulty Civic as well, I was fuming.

I think a nice subtle car sticker would be cool. Lets face it you can't through a stick without hitting a Skoda with a Briskoda sticker on it! And will all checkout other Civics just to make sure ours is the better

I put an entry in Wikipedia and it lasted about a day...

Looking at stickers - any art geniuses come up with a design? Has to be all-coloured (ie no transparancy).

When somebody asks a question on the 'other' site. Is it OK for us to reply with a link to this forum and an answer to their question.

Did'nt want to get Pottsy in any more bother with the Honda Web Police. Assuming it gets past their moderation?

You can try, but it will be moderated off the site before it even gets posted. If replying to your own topic on such sites, you bypass the moderation approval but they'll just delete it anyway.

Waste of time IMO.

Yes, I've posted a few replies but they get changed beyond all recognition. Not worth the hassle.

Let's get one thing straight - this isn't Honda doing the censoring, it's a third party company who make money* out of creating online communities.

* I don't actually know if their revenue streams are high enough to be profitable.

What about a sticker that would go on the number plate- over the dealer slogan? I don't remember them giving me anything to advertise for them!

Or advertising on ebay? My boyfriend was looking for something for his Honda CB1300 and when he put the key words in he got a listing that advertised the owners club (amongst the other listings), just a thought.

I told my dealer about the site the other day - he may pass it on you never know. i also told my uncle who picked up his new Civic last week - i'm trying!!!!
