I have finally made it to 'Magic Rear Seat', and I am crestfallen.
How can I be that when my Type S Civic doesn't have them
I feel a fraud. I don't deserve the honour. How can I continue to hold my head up high in this forum knowing that it is all based on a lie.

Or, should I just accept the honour

Foggy!

No don't go doing that!

You might feel you have an unworthy rating, but you've got one of them Misty Blue Space Ships.

Not many Civics have an ELO track named after them!

......and that is Magic!

Off to Curfu now.

Plenty of foreign readys in my pocket.

One of the Harding sprogs is getting wed out there.

So look after yourselves for a couple of weeks,

Jamas, til 4th September.

Millie will be able for viewing at the Gatwick Car Park for the next two weeks.

.....try and keep your fingers off the paintwork!

You're tired and frustrated,
And most of your b*lls are missing!"

But your type S *does* have them. Look under the rear seat(s) and there is a retaining clip/ring thing. Unclip this and voila! the magic is all there. I have a type S and use the magic rear seats for odd shaped luggage, etc.

Anthony.

PS. this posting takes me one closer to the 200 mark...

It does and it doesn't unfortunately.
The seat's do unclip from the floor and fold upwards.
There is no locking mechanism, like on the 5 door to lock them in the up position.
So, unless you are carrying something big enough to wedge the seats up, they are pretty much useless.
A strange piece of design from Swindon

Ahh... I suppose in my excitement upon discovery the unclipping and being able to use the revealed floorspace when I really needed it, blinded me to the fact of a lack of locking them in the upright position. Still half a loaf is better than none I suppose; I do use the facility from time-to-time myself.

As far as Swindon is concerned, there is a certain logic to their design/manufacturing logic which goes like this...

1. need to use standard components where possible.
2. in three door cars it isn't practical to use magic seats (they think)
3. so use the actual seat but lock them down with a clip.

Anthony.

Excitement is completely understandable with anything to do with the Civic
