Little country flags by your name

You can now add a little country flag by your name (it appears at the end of your "location"). You need to have entered a location to enable the flag:

http://www.civinfo.com/forum/profile.php?do=editprofile

You can also search by country in the member list - when looking at the memberlist press Search Members, then Advanced Search:

http://www.civinfo.com/forum/memberlist.php?do=search

allflags.jpg

The 2 letter country codes are detailed here:

ISO country codes table

Considering most people here are British, woudlnt it be a better idea to add county flags?

Some people are never happy, isn't it enough to get country flags, nevermind counties.

Although.......

You could have better marked the Irish one though, was very hard to work out which one it was!

Nice thought, but on consideration, no. The reason for adding the flags is that this forum has become much more European than I anticipated. It helps UK members to be able to spot non UK members (and vice versa) when it comes to offering advice like "pop into Halfords", hence the flags idea. Being able to search for fellow countrymen may also be of assistance to minority country users. I don't know what the Dorset flag looks like, so I imagine that a Croatian user would have even less idea - rendering the system useless.

Now, should I make entering a Location mandatory prior to posting?
