Emails to yahoo btinternet or btopenworld
I'm afraid that anyone with a yahoo or btinternet.com or btopenworld.com email address will not be getting any emails from the site, and anyone attempting to register with one of these addresses will most likely not be able to.
BT Yahoo have upped their anti-spam measures, and have decided to totally reject emails from forum software (and many other websites) before they even deliver them to your bulk or junk email folders. Great policy! Occasionally email has made it through - you can try putting webmaster@civinfo.com into your trusted sites in your Bulk email settings at Yahoo and then resending the registration email by clicking here. I and the web hosting company are trying to petition against this, but to no avail so far. If you are registering, you could also use another address (your ISP should give you one when you signed up). Existing users can also easily change the address used by this site to another one. If all else fails, sign up for a free Google mail account! You can change your email address here, and as soon as you change it a new activation email will automatically be sent to the new address. |

It's not clear yet. Some messages are being bounced and some are getting through. For those interested, this is the bounce (it's the same for yahoo or btinternet) - notice how the message is 5 days old:

Wondered why it had all gone quiet.
![]() Unfortunately my two email addresses are yahoo.co.uk & btinternet.com Like the idea of reducing spam, but surely it should go into a bulk/junk folder rather than being binned before the owner of the email address can see it. Now off to search for another free webmail address that I can use....... |

I still use the free tesco.net email address when I first got dial up net access all those years ago
can't use it to send anymore, but it still happily receives and lets me read them |

Yahoo have decided that they are banning emails from thousands of forums and web sites. This means that if you use a yahoo / btinternet email account then you could try setting up your bulk email settings to allow emails from webmaster@civinfo.com, but there's no guarantee that this will work.

They've changed a bit now, so I think all you do is find a civinfo email in your bulk folder and mark it as "not spam".
"Bulk" is the name yahoo gives to what everyone else calls "Junk". bulk.gif |
