The idea was to allow supporters a longer time in which to edit their posts. Unfortunately the time limit is a global setting, as is whether you can or can't edit.

Until I find a better solution, I have returned it to the way it was, where everyone can edit for 24 hours (to change spelling and so on) before the post is locked.

Removing the ability to edit was not a way of "punishing" regular users, it was just a side effect of giving supporters another little bonus. I try to give regular users a perfectly good and usable resource. I try to give those who have contributed to the running costs a few things that make the site a bit better.

CH, sadly it costs quite a lot of money to host a busy forum on a good host with good support. Our bandwidth is now about 110 Gb/month and this doesn't come cheaply.

And apologies for not sorting this earlier - have had a bit of internet trouble!

Thanks very much for the time and trouble of giving a sensibile and understandable reply.
