LED DRL's 9G to 8G

Will it be possible to "officially" upgrade our 8G's with led drl's from the 9G at Honda dealers?

Honda will probably charge you an arm and a leg.

Yes, it would, but I wouldn't know how to install it... The car is 2011, I wouldn't want to void my warranty

My DRLs would not invalidate the warranty as they do not required any modification to the car or damage it... They just clip in and 3 wires to connect.

I wouldn't have thought adding extra lights would void your warranty although you'd have to check the terms and conditions.

In any case, a Honda dealer could fit them for you if you went down that route.

It all depends on how much they are but to give an example Rick Honda's floor light kit was around £15-20 yet Honda charge something ridiculous like £300 for the essentially the same kit so even with dealer fitting, the difference was massive.

With DRL's you'd have to check as the kits are a lot more expensive. However, I would expect Honda DRL's to not be cheap either.

If you really want to go Honda DRL then best thing is ring your local dealer for a quote.

As said above, DRL will not void your warranty, as your warranty will only suffer on the part you modify or change. As the 8th Gen do not have DRL you'll be ok bud.

Hi Amused If you look up member Atomic, the DRL guy he sells a very good kit and there is stacks of info to help you decide.

The 9G DRL's won't fit onto an 8G as the entire bumper is a different shape and the 8G will have none of the mounting brackets or wiring.

You could most likely fit them but you would end up modifying way more of the car than you would with an aftermarket kit like mine or bogs.

My car has been in for warranty work (extended but still via Honda Dealers) with my DRL's on and they have covered it without any issue.
