Do you happen to know if the dealer sprayed the centre section of these Red at your request or whether Honda are manufacturing fully colour coded splitters?

The car already came with the front and rears splitters sprayed.

When in the dark though you can tell they were done after and not with the car so to speak.

When asking my local dealer about anything like this they always seem to say they will be ordered that color, dont know if many dealers do much spraying them selfs.

From memory, back in the day when the S first had these as an option, Honda make them pre-painted.

HOWEVER, the dealer has to order you the right one, and it's a tad confusing!

If they order it in Red, then the 'outer' bits get painted red, but the centre section is black.
They have to order Red / Red to get the whole thing in the right colour (if indeed that is what you want!)

I'm not saying that there are any dodgy dlrs out there, but if one ordered it in Red when they should have ordered Red / Red, it would probably be quicker / easier to simply get the black bits sprayed themselves

Have a good chat with your dealer and work out what option you want, then make sure they get the right bits

I always thought they were available fully colour coded too TT.

Apparently, after speaking to a few dealers, we are told they are only available with the centre section in black, so anyone who wants them fully colour coded needs to get this done themsleves.

From (admitedly possibly faulty!) memory, I thought Neil from Bassets Honda (NeilZ in here) got his fully painted when he was putting them on his demo Type S...

But I'm relying on memory, which is never a clever thing for me to do

More than happy to bow to the more recent and correct info LOL

I think the CTS splitters do come with the centre section colour coded but not the outside lip. That remains in the grey plastic colour to match the wheels arch trims. Like the one in this post.

http://www.civinfo.com/forum/237156-post1.html

The CTR ones however have the outside lip colour coded, as you already know, and the centre section only available in black.

Just to confirm, yes, this is also my understanding. I've spent a few weeks looking into this now speaking to various people, and unfortunately I think DimplyRed is correct.
