Hi,

I've just bought the grill badge on eBay for £30. It doesn't include the side stickers but I didn't want those. Honda charge £140 for it!!

HONDA CIVIC FN2 TYPE-R GRILL BADGE EMBLEM on eBay, also, Honda, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 28-Jun-09 19:29:27 BST)

Does anyone know how to fix it though. I saw something in AutoExpress where they had to take the whole front bumper off to do it.

Hope this helps

2 choices really;

1. undo wheel arches, remove whole front bumper, remove grille, take apart grille, fit badge by locating pins and push nuts and re-assemble grille, fit bumper and wheel arches.

2. glue! .............. good quality trim tape (thin double sided foam adhesive) should do it.

Thanks. After fitting the front splitters and removing the front bumper I think option 2 is the way to go!

yeah, thats what I did. If you cut it out to follow the shape of the letters and wrap a little bit round each pin .... heat with hairdryer until hot to touch and very tacky, also heat grille until hot to touch, then apply and hold.

D'oh! I just got the Honda dealer to fit it - didn't fancy taking the bumper off myself. Only got £35 so still a huge saving on the dealer fit option.

Looks sooo good with it now

Got the trim tape from Halfords, I think its duck tape brand ...... might be wrong as I have slept several times since then. It's only a few mill thick and gets very tacky/sticky when heated, worked a treat.

No more nails on a roll should do it and least if some thieves try to pick it off it will be truly stuck.

I just got mine off E-bay and fit it tonight.................

I was convinced it would be easy to do........

It was a complete dick on fixing without removing the whole front end as there is so little room and getting any kind of purchace on the back of it for the clips was almost impossible!!!

I dropped one star clip into bumper and in getting it out dropped a length of stud bar behind the grille (with sticky tape on the end)- manged to get that out only to then drop a socket head behind the bumper which has vanished!!!

In the end I snapped the centre pin on the badge got one end on fully and the other end just about tight enough - added some extra strong super glue type stuff and hey presto!
