retrofit 09 mats in 06?

I've cocked up and just been delivered some 09 mats (i ordered via ebay) when I've actually got an 06, which as I'm sure you know they dont fit.

is there a relatively simple way to modify em to fit that anyone has done succesfully?

Carpet or rubber? How much did you pay for 'em if you don't mind me asking. Maybe someone on here will take them off your hands.

Conversely to the thread opener, I'd actually like to specifically order 09 mats for use in my MY07 Type S as I prefer the fastening setup of those. Is it possible to retrofit that? Also, I'd appreciate if someone could put up a photo of the 09 mats' fixation.

So the interior of the car must have changed geometrically. Judging by catalogue pictures, the mats don't appear to be shaped differently. You sure?

And if so, is this true for the MY08 ones as well? Those should have the changed fastening setup, but did the shape change already back in MY08?

I just put mine in without modification, only the drivers mat has any kind of anchoring in my setup. the right mounting hole just goes over one of the 06 mouting rod things. its actually fine and hasn't caused me any issues.

I've got 09 mats in my 08 and they fit fine, the only difference is how they attach to the floor, I can't see how 09 mats won't fit any year....
