To remove your badges just use some like a fishing line and use it like dental floss then when its of just rub your finger on the foam to get most of that off, then use something like tar removal then thats it job done. It's allot easier and quicker than other ways that I've heard of. It'll literally take about 10mins.

I genuinely don't understand why anyone would debadge their car, especially a type R. It just ruins the look of a car IMO

I can see why people remove the Civic badge, but the Type R one? I saw a debadged R the other day and IMO it just looked wrong - like someone had bought the kit to change the look of the car but forgot the badge.

I did mine for the same reason as robbobaggins, just to smooth off the boot area and make it symetrical. Plus the fact that i think the Honda badges are cheap, shiney and nasty.

There are a lot of reasons. Generally speaking, it's for a cleaner look, or to draw less attention. Maybe they are going for a sleeper look? Some people go a step further and remove the body kit on their Type R (or other halo car) and replace it with the standard spec kit.
I know someone running full Integra Type R running gear (DC2) in their EG Civic. Outside it is a freshly resprayed in standard milano red with a brand new BREEZE sticker (the lowest version of the EG Civic in Australia). No body kits, no visible signs of modifications, even height looks standard. As with any modifications, everyone has different opinions as to what they like. From complete sleepers to something that looks like it came straight out the fast and the furious. I myself will be removing my Civic badge next weekend. |
