Just had my Civic Type S 2.2 Colour Coded by G-Motorsports
Hi Guys,
I've just had my civic colour coded so thought I would upload some before and after pictures and provide some feedback on the body shop who carried this work out. I was worried about getting the colour coding done after being told by several people that the paint would peel off. I also had a few body shops near where I live (Chesterfield) turn down this work down or just quote silly prices. So after plenty of research on here I found the following thread for G-Motorsports who are based in Peterborough. Car Bodyshop in Peterborough I also found a thread posted by Harz who has had his car colour coded and was very pleased with the results. Had my Type S colour coded After reading through these threads and a phone call with Swap at G-Motorsport's, this was enough to convince me to book the Civic in which also required an 80 mile drive and a return journey on the train. I arrived for about 10am on Monday 2nd April and was offered a cuppa and shown around the workshop. I was asking about some of the other projects that were being worked on, so after this we had a walk around the car to check the condition of the existing trim. He also clearly explained the process that would be taken and said he would need the car for 4 days. I had printed a map off which contained the route back to the train station but this was not required since Swap kindly offered to give me a lift which saved a 3 mile walk to the local train station. Here's some pictures of how my car looked before and after the colour coding. I also asked Swap to take a few work-in-progress pictures so I could see the step by step progress. As you can see all the trim was removed in order to complete the job properly. I was surprised to learn that some places will leave the trim attached to save time which would most likely cause the paint to start peeling from the areas that have not been sprayed. I would just like to give a thanks to G-Motorsports for transforming my car and would strongly recommend them to anyone who is considering having colour coding or any other type of body or re-spray work to check their website and/or contact them using the information below. Looks so much better mate.
![]() Just FYI, the "FN2" is the Type-R, yours would be a FN1 (1.8), FN3 (2.2d) or FN4 (1.4). |

Thanks for all the comments guys.
The sports grill is going to be next. Quite like the special edition silver one with the Type R style "Red H" that COX Motorsport's currently have on offer. |

Well that looks great, love the colour too, the S looks great in most colours but black is really nice.
Would you be able to PM me the price you paid? Thanks |
