FN2 GruppeM's back in stock!

Just received another shipment of GM's today.
All those paid for in advance have now been sent out and fitted and we have a few left.
Unfortunately we have had to increase the prices slightly to cover costs due to the weak £ but am sure you will still find us very competitive on prices.

Give us a call to get booked in before stocks run out.

Paul

Nothing that we have heard yet.
There is supposed to be a few tuning companies in Mainland Europe looking into this though but we have no further details.

Sorry

Had tp's FN2 in today and we fitted the kit and had a play around with a few things to try and get it working as well as we could.
Found a few issues with the kit fitment but generally its a top quality bit of kit and so much more solid than the EP3 kits.
Having driven it its not as loud as the EP3 GruppeM's but certainly gives a deeper growl than the OEM airbox.
Most noticeable is the midrange gains over every other kit we have fitted.

The graph below shows the same car stock then with the GruppeM, HKS catback and Hondata reflash.

Click the image to open in full size.

Fitting will take no more than 2 hours and we have these kits in stock.

Really happy with it.
Feels so much stronger on the road with real cool airflow than it was on the dyno. Would expect to see very good gains with the addition of the manifold.

I think people were but you can't just look at peak. Its significantly better than every other intake I have tried on my car midrange which was a trait of the EP3 kits. Add a manifold and map to it and it really comes alive.

The printout shown was from one of the last runs we did. The car was hot and power was dropping slightly. It did make a little more to start with but not much.
We spent ages modifying the bonnet and scoop to get good airflow as if you just follow the instructions you get lots of leekage.
Even tried it with the bonnet on the latch which made no difference atall so the way the air is picked up works very well.
If you look at the grill then the bonnet, it overhangs. With the weather seal removed it makes a scoop shape that traps and forces the air into the duct. Problem with dyno's is you have a fixed fan which is great but doesn't 100% simulate what happens on the road.

Definatly feels stronger on the road with proper airflow over the car though.

Do you think the Reflash is worth the money ? The GM seems to be the muts nuts.

Without a doubt.
It doesn’t make the 10bhp that CPL claimed as its been proven on many cars being more like 1-2bhp but it does give a tremendous gain midrange making the car more drivable, plus gave better fuel economy.
It will only get better the more mods that are added.

I will hopefully have the new manifold on next week, then we will see just how good it all is together. Can refit the stock ECU so we will see 100% just how good it is as its supposed to be mapped for intake, manifold and exhaust.

Dont get me wrong, i belive the car feels very diferent and much stronger. And I will do these changes myself, just was expecting a litle bit more...

There was over 208bhp to start with, thats good. But even hading the exhaust manifold, it wont get more than a few bhp gain!!! Lots more torque i know...

But GruppeM alone claim a gain of 11,2ps at the flywheel. And GruppeM plus Hondata a gain of +/-14,2ps at the flywheel!

So with these two (GruppeM and Hondata), and considering you had 208bhp stock, you should have +/- 223,5bhp! Plus a couple bhp from the HKS cat back!
Or i think something might be wrong!

Did you dyno the car after each Part??

I know that the FN2 that was used in the developement of GruppeM and Toda Full Exhaust has ended with around 237bhp (Hondata Reflash, GruppeM, Toda Manifold and Toda Exhaust)...

Well, that doesnt sound to bad.
Had a RRC Manifold, Heat Gasket, 70mm Thottle Bodies and i think it might reach near to 245bhp... And that i could live with!! Until Hondata Upgrade arrives anyways, then we can sqeeze a few more ponies out of that K20!!!

You have to remember you cannot compare numbers off of different dyno's especially if one is a hub the other is a conventional roller one.

I guess I was expecting a bit more and the first runs were making a solid 220-222bhp but as heat was building up the figures were dropping slowly. This is quite normal. we had the car running for 3 hours on the dyno and the sheet posted is the last run we did.

Other thing is this is my 2nd FN2. My first was very strong making 212 stock and with the addition of just a Hondata, AEM and catback was hitting 231. That car was stolen. My new car makes only 208 stock and same mods were 218bhp but with a test manifold made 231.
Same dyno different days but the cars felt very different to drive.

I guess what I am seeing now is more realistic figures and it is still running very rich so given a better ECU there is a lot of scope to make more power.

The only other thing is my car doesn't have the aircon fitted and there is a blanking panel right behind the front grill. Maybe this reduces the airflow slightly compared to the original car tested which was fitted with aircon and had no cover.

Just a thought and something I will look at removing or modifying later...can also fit my grill badge then as well.
