Le Mans 2010 or Civinfo Track Day

I want to see what you guys would prefer to do before I start arranging things. I think this could be a great idea of some competitive racing either taking part (track day) or watching (Le Mans).

For track day if we went to Brands hatch it is £199 for Novice track days or Snetterton is between £75-£199 depending on class and laps etc.

Cost and time to location and important for me. Will very much depend on date if you organise something, tend to have weekends planned up well in advance. Was sad to notice the Swindon meet seemed to have fallen over as that was in the diary. Will keep an eye on this thread.

Well once people have made there choices I can start organsing dates etc. Le Mans would end up being quite dear around £200+ as we would be camping/B&B for the event however the drive to France and back would be amazing especially with a group of FN2's!

Track day your looking at £200 + FUEL but would be good and competitive

I was thinking just the same thing the other day to be honest! A road trip to Le Mans would be amazing.

I went there last year with Aston Martin, such an AWSOME experience!

The overall tickets cost around £700 but that was with AM and included hotels before going to France, all food & drink, camping and all tents/beds provided, Euro Tunnel Tickets there and back, Le Mans tickets sat and sunday with Grandstand seating.

The itinerary was as follows

Travel down Thursday evening to stay in a hotel near the Eurotunne

Have an evening meal and drinks to get to no the people who you are travelling with etc.

Drove to the Chunnel on the Friday morning/ crossed over to france

Drove to Le Mans during Friday day.

Arrive in Le Mans friday evening

Have beers and food friday night

Watch Le Mans

Chunnel was open return so Sunday or Monday drive back.

Driving on the French Toll roads was awsome, but there are alot of cops with speed guns who can get u from 2miles away. speeds over 120+ KM and u get a ticket over 175+ KM its a 750 Euro on the spot fine... but at least u dont loose your licence!

Always fancied a track day and Ive got a set of wheels/tyres just for the occasion. I guess for many it would be decided on where and when.

plus the cost of the additional insurance premium and possibly a new set of tyres (at the very least they will have to be replaced sooner).

However having done a track day in an instructors CTR i would like to have another go

Ok so more 300 then but still worth every penny! cheaper option in run what ya brung day at pod. £25 unlimited run and would save heavily on tyre track insurance costs

sounds good i would love to do both, however perhaps a circuit such as donington park which is not as far south as those suggested to attract national interest? can be had for like 100 - 150 pounds on a weekday?
Donington Park Race Track and Circuit Information for Car and Bike Track Days

see what you think?
